Disappearing Snails

I've got a snail killer.. Removed all my hermits as I thought they were the culprit.. Not so..

Put 12 in Monday, I'm finding their empty shells.. Hmmmm...?

What type f snail? Did you drip acclimatize them?

Yes.. I acclimated snails.... Used to have 50+ slowly disappeared..

Like i said.. Thought it was my hermits.. They've all been removed to the sump.. Snails still disappearing.. Maddening!

Month ago I put in 3 large Mexican turbos... They lasted only a few weeks at best.. This time I put in 6 astrea 6 turbos. Since Monday I can only verify 3 left

Is this the bastard? Just happened to find him while looking in the tank just now..

This thing is aggressive, it used it's foot to violenty move itself and fall back in the water (the sump now)

I thought whelk snails are good ? They kill other snails? I have the same problem in my 75 with my turbos dying.

Chromis, yellow and sailfin tang, firefish, royal gamma, pair clowns, yellow coris and mystery wrasse and Mandarin

It's a predator period. It s business is murder and death.

Get rid of it. I had 2 of those. My hermits don't look for shells anymore, ya know lol

So that picture looks like a whelk then? Didn't look like a nassarius at all..

That is a whelk. The slot in the front of the shell and the colour is what I had. I found him INSIDE a turbo tearing the disc off

Just found another like 2 secs ago.. I think the store sold these as nassarius to me. There may be more in there..

No.. I think I bought these as nassarius (bury in the sand) snails.. From a reputable store too.. I didn't pay much attention that they were different then my other nassarius (which may have disappeared also) I've taken 2 out.. Can't remember if there are more.. Ill keep watching..
