Is there any reason i should not drill a tank from the inside. The holes are on the short end and from the outside that will be 5' in the air. Tank is empty.
No reason at all. Actually, the first tank I drilled was a 120 long and I did it from the inside. There are actual benefits to it as typically there is some chip out as the hole finishes out the other side. The seal on the bulkhead is on the inside of the tank. With the chip out on the outside of the tank the bulkhead gets a better seal on it inside. I still am over cautious; I also fill the gap between the bulkhead threads and glass with silicone to make sure there are never any leaks. Is there any reason i should not drill a tank from the inside.
