It was such a pain in the ass to snowshoe last year. It was damp and I have size 14 feet. The shoes basically just grabbed any damp snow like a sponge and by the end were super heavy. Hoping for some nice crisp cool weather this winter when we go.
Winter camping isn't that bad. Worst part is how cold the ground can be. If you tackle that properly it makes it a lot easier. We put a layer of hay under our tent the one time however that wasnt us hiking in. Carrying in the hay would be a pain
It's been pretty dissapointing weather the last couple years. I keep taking up my telescope to check out the stars at night and every single night has been overcast. I'm still hoping to see the northern lights.
So beautiful up there in winter
