Ai Prime Blown Diode

Was hoping to fix my unit but cant seem to find any specs for the leds they only say what type of cree. Cree XTE and xpe 2
When looking to order the smd crees of this type i could only find 3watt ones. Is it safe to assume that these ones only come as 3 watters? There also does not seem to be any info on how they are driven....

the 201 is a blue
the K01 is a royal blue
neither has a very good radiant flux rating

I am not sure if it was the blue or rb channel I will double check tonight.
What would your suggestion be if they dont have good radiantt flux? I guess i would have to match the diodes in my other unit though.

I will take your word for it and pick up some of them to try too! Now I just need to dig up my soldering stuff.

Yup. It has been a while since I have done smd but I am looking forward to the project. After looking at the light last night again I noticed that all 3 RBs were out so I am wondering whether something else is wrong. I will bring my meter home to pinpoint what the problem is and whether drivers are accessible for replacement if needed.

Have you worked on the primes before? They seem quite easy to pull apart.

I am hoping it is a led as they would be easier to find and fix. More than likely series so it is probable that it is that that is the problem. I may buy those royal blues you suggested and swap the ones out on my other unit too for fun depending on whether I struggle with the first.

rig up a battery and touch the leads around each diode. if its bad it wont light/glow. they only light in the correct polarity so you have to watch that.

For sure the way to go. I just havnt had the time to pull it apart yet.
