Luke, I can understand where you're coming from. I have been told and have read that an RODI unit would reduce or eliminate Phosphate problem since phosephates can be in our tap water.

but then you get into other issues that cause algae growth, from lights not being strong enough to Lights being left on too long. Also the issue of over feeding.

I can't wait until I can get a gadget that will test treat and maintain my Tank

@Luke. the Rodi system will be beneficial to you by removing all of the other crap in the water, Waterloo region pulls over 50% of their water from the grand river. after you start using pure water then tackle the next issue of high po4. take it one step at a time.

Just a heads up on emerald crabs. They love picking at corals especially zoas and torches. I have not had much luck with emeralds to fix an already bad issue with bubble algae but will help maintain when the majority of the algae is cleaned up by other means...manual removal. Also +1 on what was previously posted.

Thanks guys , I have heard that before I think in the last 6 months I lost maybe 2 heads of my zoas ( I think I got lucky) I have 6 in my 40 gallon and they cleaned it all the bubble algae , now I’m down to 1 and he keeps the rocks clean and I use a tube with a sewing needle taped on the end and poke and Siphon the juices and most of the time the bubbles go with it . Sometimes a pita but it works well , and I run more carbon and switch it out every 2 weeks and that’s really helpped me in the past . I think over feeding brought it back lol. Or my lights or possible the combo of the 2.
