I am thinking of getting the cyberpower one. Do I need one with sine wave? Also, do you think 1500VA or 900 watts UPS is too much to run a 150 watts heater, skimmer, tank pump, ATO, heater controller, nanobox duo LED, and Ecotech powerhead?
IMO the UPS is for emergency use and you should only hook up the items that the tank needs to survive. Water circulation, heater are first priority... Lights, skimmer... everything in the tank can live without for days...

I run 2 dj 8 outlet power strips on 2 dedicated 15 amp outlets. Each outlet has its own switch. Im in the process of setting it up but have done this in the past. For timers I use outdoor ones. They are black with a cover, come with a outlet pigtail and are mechanical. Now they do make a slight ticking noise but nothing to bad compared to the tank.

If anyone of you who is following this thread is looking for UPS or Surge protector or power bar, why not get all of them for only $9.99??

There is a deal on brand new Cyberpower UPS on Amazon.ca

See the link on Amazon.ca

You just need to click "New from" link (ignore the high price) and you will go to another page where you can buy it for $9.99

I think it is a mistake but I got few of them and my order now shows "shipped" hehehe
