Hey guys. Im looking at a 150 gallon tank. The weight concerns me.
Old house, probably 100 years old, but have crawl space underneath.
Im thinking reinforcing under the floor where the tank will sit.

I was a little reluctant on the 150 but then remembered I had a 135 before.

Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

always better to be safe then sorry,, If it's an craw space that you don't use,, throw some support in there, can't hurt,
150-gallon 72" x 18" x 28" 308 lbs 1800 lbs

"Let's say you have a three foot wide safe that weighs 1,000 pounds, and your floor joists span 12 feet (which is typical). This three foot by 12 foot section of the floor was designed to safely carry a live load of 3 x 12 x 40 PSF, which equals 1,440 pounds. So when placed perpendicular to the floor joists as close to the wall as possible, you are well within the minimum safety factor."

Ive got some short jack posts. I will go under and put them under the beams Maybe even add some blocks. Its right in the corner of an outside wall and inside wall.

Make sure you place your tank across joist not the same direction and adding a beam is a good idea. Remember the stand sump and equipment aswell adds lots of weight on top of just the water
