water flow

Hi all my name is Andrew new to this site just a quick question I currently have a 50 gallon long marine aquarium going is 2 600 gph water flow power heads enough or to much current for the size

like maxijet600's? its not too much but depending on what your plans are for the tank it could be too little.. Welcome to the site.

heyy,, welcome to the site..
i think i would want a 1100 gph and a 600 gph
a couple of suggestions..
hydor koralia brand is good for the price ,, $35 - $65 or so,,
jaebo wp25 is all the rage right now.. $75 - $100

I am with dale on this one. What you have is okay, but on the low side off okay. Might want to bump it up just a little

Welcome fraser, nice to meet you, 2 600s aren't much, but it really depends on what you want to keep in your tank, I'll tell you having enough or too much flow is something we all have questions about, Some Corals want low flow, some want high, some stir up the sand bed, some don't hit those stagnant spots in the tank, It's all a matter of trial and error and what suits your needs, I hope this helps.

I have 2400 gph + return of 400gph in my 75 LPS/softy tank and I think a little more would be nice. The only corals of mine that seem to like less flow would be my ricordeas  zoas and shrooms. I did notice when I had less flow the stagnant spots would get algae on the sand and rocks. So maybe 1200 is a little low for a 4 foot tank IMO
