To catch an eel...

Anyone have any idea how to catch a 12"+ snowflake eel?  I'm having a hell of a time feeding him with my zebra eel and silver scat, who apparently have bigger appetites and no manners.  As soon as shrimp hits the water they're on it.  Need to sell/trade either scat or snowflake (zebra is staying!), but need to be sure I can catch eel before I offer him up.  Taking rock out of my tank is not an option!

2L pop bottle trap - scat won't fit in, not sure about the zebra?  Cut off top, invert, tape back on, pop a shrimp or 2 in it.

Tried that while attempting to catch my tomini tang.  Left it in overnight, absolutely no interest from anyone.  Almost like they had no idea there was anything in it.  I know this is a popular type of trap, so not sure why my fish were so oblivious to it.

you would have to keep it in there for a very long time while changing the shrimp every 8 hours or so..  while not feeding the snowflake..could take weeks and an incredible amount of effort,, or you could get lucky...

Well it's not causing any trouble.  Just not eating as much as it used to.  Can keep zebra occupied with a clam on opposite end of the tank.  So, anyone want a  6" silver scat?

thats what my fish used to do,, but the eel became a very aggressive eater and is blind as a bat and goes after anything that moves,,so now they stay away from him,, and i do have to feed him directly cuz he cant see very well,, he eats about every 3 or 4 days..

Scat is fearless.  The snowflake has "struck" at it a couple times, but i think it's pretty much blind as well.  Might have just been trying to locate shrimp.  Even when i do manage to get the shrimp into the rockwork with the eel, where the scat can't get it, the zebra appears out of nowhere.  No way to fight him off!
