So I did some tests yesterday, I know I need more but here's what I have let me know if everything seem
S normal.
Nitrates .03 < seachem kit, couldn't find an expiry tho :s
Calcium>420(api)
Phosphate>.03(who knows with this dumb Hanna  lol)
Magnesium>1380(salifert)
SG> 1.025(vertex refracrometer)
Temp>78-80

everything looks normal to me. only thing i notice missing is your alkalinity

Everything looks fine by me. Mag is a little high but not crazy by any means. Should definitely be testing ALK too.

Yeah i need to buy a test kit.. been deciding between hanna or salifert. Thinking ill go with hanna for alk and then salifert for ph until i get my apex back up and running.prolly retest mag its my first timenusing it so it cud be a little high from me lol.

I'd go salifert for alk, good kit, fast and simple and accurate, and forget pH, if ca, alk and mag are good then pH is more than likely ok.

I like the Hanna ALK tester myself but Salifert and Red Sea Pro are good as well.

Yeah ill be going to a hanna shortly just wanted a test kit thatll do the trick for now.. so is 7.0 dKH normal for in the morning...my lights come on at 2 and i tested at 1030..and the lights were on for about a hour brcause someone came for a trade.

I'm not sure how much of an impact your lights have on dkh, would be more ph then anything IMO.

I would slowly bump your alk up to 8 over 2-3 days.

Ok i thought alk and ph were related, in that sense.

Dosing alk will raise your ph, as will having you lights on. That is why we try to dose alk when the lights are not on, as this is when our ph will be the lowest (generally)
