Test Kits

Hey gang,

Just wondering, what test kits do you recommend for me right now...

I have already heard that salifert test kit and Elos are pretty good... agreed?

Would I need 3 kits for now... Nitrate, Nitrite and Ammonia?  

Where in the world do you get these things?  Are they really $25-$30 PER KIT?????? ???  TIMES AT LEAST 3 KITS?

you can get a master kit with all the tests in it.

for nitrite and amonia, you dont need a great test, you will only test these parameters during your first cycle. And really, its just so you can track where the cycle is. For now the only good test you will want is nitrate. That test will be used throughout. Im not sure of where in london you can find those tests, box of water or big als im sure have test kits. Most LFS will actually test your water for you, if you dont want to buy amonia or nitrite.

It all depends what you want to keep and what you will be putting in your tank.

If you add it, you should test for it.
