I've joined the group buy so I'll be ordering new test kits - I have some suggestions already - thankyou very muchly !
I'm thinking about ordering the hanna alkalinity and phosphate kits, looked at calcium, but it seems the common complaint is having to order reagents? any experience with this? anyone use the hanna calcium kit? It seems as tho they are very eayy to work with for the most part and have the most reliable results. I want to do this the right way. I have tested for calcium and mag. I have been using API and Tetra test kits from the lfs. Lesson learned.

What calcium kit do you recommend? how about salifert? calcium and mag?
What kit are you using for nitrates? recommendations?

I used the salifert cal test kit and it seemed ok. Just ordered the red sea reef basics kit as u can buy refills for cheap. Heard they work good and are accurate

I've been using salifert for Ca, Alk, Mg, and NO3.  I just ordered and received the Hanna checker Phosphate and Alk testers, have used the phosphate but not Alk yet.

I was told the phousphourus hanna is better.  Cuz when the phosphate reads zero.  It can't go below.  Which the phousphourus hanna will go lower.

theres an equation somewhere on the internet that converts the phosphurus number to phosphate.

so here I go again with another question.
I don't have a lot of corals yet. I have a couple bubble tip sebae anenomes that are doing well. Bought one that looked like it was going to split and it did ! With regular water changes I may be ok without checking the calcium and mag for now as I don't have a lot of corals yet, at least this is what I'm getting from what I've read in some of the posts; but if ordering, should I go with a cheaper cal, and mag kit to begin with? I'll take another look at the red sea and salifert products and maybe order the  cal and from one of those for now
