test kit

Going out tomorrow to buy a new test kit. My kit was used and think it is expired. Which ones are recommended, so many at the store not sure which ones I really need. They have master kit, also phos, calcium, kh, copper, amm, nitrite,nitrate,ph, think a few others too, can't remember. The master test kit only checks 4 things i think.  Suggestions?

It all depends what you are planning on keeping and how much you want to $pend on different test kits?

Once your tank is established, the basics would be pH, ALK, Nitrate, Ca.

I find salifert kits are the best, alk, ca, no3, mag. are a must, as a rule, if you add it you must test for it.
