ok, i am getting 0 tds out of my ro/di.
But the water i store in a 30 gal tupperware bin is showing 60 ppm.
Any ideas. Is it because its not food grade container. I have heard people talk about food grade containers before.
Kinda defeats my ro/di system if i am putting 60 ppm water in the tanks.
Thanks again for any help

could be the container wasn't as clean as you thought it was

could be the TDS meter you are using needs to be calibrated how old is the meter?

did you put something in the container that wasn't clean?

Run a phosphate check on the water in the tub.  I was using a blue rubbermaid tub and the phosphate level was something like .80 after sitting a week.

Of course I tested my water in my current container once and it read .20 and I dumped it...then remembered I had added magnesium to it!  :?

Have you had the tub for long? When I first got my barrel, it was reading around 150~ tds after being washed. After using it for around a week, the tds reads 2ppm. I think it may be just the initial few dust particles or whatever and will go away after some time, unless your barrel is leeching particulates. If you have used this barrel for awhile, I would suggest getting a new one.

I mix and store my salt ro/di water in a 30 gal aquarium, thought about plastic, but then I thought back to my dog breeding days and the fact that the majority of those I know never used any plastic bowl for food or water, as some dogs, not all had reactions that cleared up once switching to stainless steel containers. I wonder if chemicals leach out of the plastic over time, even food grade and I also wonder how smooth (microscopic) the face of the container is and if it would harbor or promote unwanted growth of bacteria? Just a thought, it may have no revelance to the subject, but thought I'd throw it out there
