All right. I'm down to the end game on the upgrade. The tank is 96 x 30 w x 24 tall. Im looking at either building the sump form an old tank i bought and have cut apart. Or just buying a 125 gallon tank to use.

I am building the stand with 2 front supports and 2 rear, as well as tripledup legs in the corners. I'm still looking at plans to keep it as open as possible and at the same time keep it as strong as possible.

Is a 125 gallon tank enough of a sump? I can probably run about 14" of water in it and have enough room for drain down from the display.

I'd like to have a nice big Refugium in there. I'll be running pumps and skimmer externally.

If you are doing sump in stand obviously you need to work within those dimensions. If not you can always build an out of sump refugium that drains into your sump. For example. Have your trickle flow into a 40gal breeder then have the 40 gal flow into your 125 sump

I would say yes it is if your skimmer is external. You could do a 1' section for drains, an over under over then a 3.5 fuge and a 1' return section. I would run the drain of the skimmer back to the drain section to catch the micro bubbles.

You can use the 125 but all I would be concerned with is the height of it. If it's 24 high then it would be a pain getting in it. I like getting in there.
