Suggestions on auto shut off for BRS RO/DI?

I got my last bill in the mail for water and found it raised by $80. After picking my jaw up off the floor, I started tracking down why our bill doubled. I found that my RO/DI unit was not shutting off automatically as it is advertised. I only recently started using the auto shut off due to the large amount of water I need now. I contacted BRS and they want $200 (taxes/shipping etc) to get a pump to increase my pressure as it is only at 35psi and to replace my filters, although they are pretty much still white. Even then they can not guarantee that it will fix the issue. My frustration aside, I need to find another way to make this work. I am pretty open to ideas and DIY stuff. Preferably not the $200 range as I already lost $80 in water plus what ever water went down the drain from the time that bill was printed, mailed, received and discovered the issue.

Not sure what your setup is like but I bought a 10$ float valve at crappy tire, causes pressure in the rodi line and activates the shut off on the unit.

Not sure what the output pressure would have to do with this unless I'm talking about something different all together?

I have the same set up currently. This is what is not working. I understand that the lower pressure is not optimal for ro/di output to waste ratio, but nothing mentioned that the auto shut off wouldn't work either.

How much evap are you loosing a day?

Adding about 2.5gal per day. Also making water for a few people locally. I only make around 50gallons a week. My issue is that I am not always home/awake long enough to be there to shut it off and I am typically gone too long to leave it running while I am away. Lose lose situation.

Correct. The auto shut off is not shutting off. The waste water amount actually increased once the float valve shut off processed water.

i use a solenoid valve to turn the rodi on for 60 min a day.  timer with the apex.

valve is before the system and has a by pass looped around with a manul valve if i wanted to run it longer.

i also have the floats in all containers to avoid overflows.

Nice idea, however solenoid plus apex = way over my budget lol. Apex is still on the "too purchase when wife is not around list"

Nice, looks to be the same as BRS, only a hell of a lot cheaper. Thanks for finding this.
