Does anyone else purposely knick or cut the ends of their sps branches to make them sprout more tips?ive been doing this the last little bit and have noticed great growth and recovery. Im just curious if this can become to much stress  if done alot also?

The left branch is the one i slightly Knicked. In the pic you can see 4 new tips and theres 2 small ones you cant see.. im going to continue this on this one because its a fairly inexpensive coral and have another growing. Andbif all goes well and somewhat speeds up growing ill try on a more finicky sps.

I've read some sps will tolerate it and can be manicured like a bonsai tree lol. Don't know how much validity there is to that but sounds cool. Looking forward to ur results.

It very much depends on the species and normal growth pattern of the coral.

I also do it with my favourite Stag and I can shape it and get it to branch by trimming it much like most plants that will activate Lateral Meristems upon loss of the Apical Meristem.  However no amount of pruning is going to make a tabling Acro grow like a stag or vice versa.
