Most zoas are indestructible, or at least to me.

Mushrooms have great colours and are easy to keep. Would be great for you.

+1 - I love mushrooms in my tank. They come in tons of colors and are easy to care for.

Mushrooms are nice but they spread like crazy!! So beware. If you want some nice, but, more expensive softies, Ricordea Yumas are nice and have great colour. They are a lot more peaceful in a tank and don't spread as quickly.

I used to have a beautiful fluorescent Green Umbrella Leather. They are very nice and fascinating how they expand and contract. They get quite large but are very nice additions. Whisker corals are also very cool and easy to keep. Zoas can thrive but they can also be very tricky. Some will grow like crazy and others can melt away. Be careful of palys. There are some nice ones but they also can take over a tank very quickly.

Pulsing Xenia is another nice softie. However, same thing... They look great but can take over fast. Green Star Polyps are another one as well. Very nice bright green but make sure you have them on a rock that is not touching any other rocks because it spreads like wild fire.

I would be wary of adding xenia or gsp, if you do make sure you separate them on their own little rock or on the glass where they can easily be trimmed unless you wan't them everywhere, which may sound like a cool idea at first but most people regret it.

Some things I would try would be leathers (I had a huge devils hand leather in my 55 when I started), zoas of course and mushrooms (although like said above they can spread too but not as bad).

+1 on the leathers, most are pretty bullet proof, stay away from the figi yellow til you get some more experience though.
Green star polyp(clavularia) puts up with alot of abuse as well.

I doubt you want to add green stars, mushrooms or Xenia .. They all look great in a tank until they take over the tank. I would agree if you add them keep then on a separate little rock away from the rest.
