Im looking for opinoins on some choices for a skimmer , my DT is going to be 75g and sump will probably be a 30g but I will be adding onto this system in the future after its up and running another 40 gallon frag tank . I was looking at the SWC but was told there not even availble anymore ? I run a vertex 100 on my frag tank now and I have no issues with it , but would like to try ssomething new for my DT anybody have any suggestions ?  I might hit dave up for his cone but would like to see some other options .

Bubbleblaster on an xp-2000. Great pump so far for me.  Had it not start once because of white crud build up in the magnet/impeller.  Sits in just about 6 inches of water.  3 year warranty I believe.  Has never started in reverse or anything.

I run a Reef Octopus SRO-1000IN on my 75G. I enjoy it a lot as well. The Bubble Blaster pump is great! It needs a good cleaning every 4 - 6 months to ensure it is working properly but it is a great unit! I did find you need a good ATO for the unit to work perfectly. It does not like fluctuating water levels. All in all, a great skimmer. Mine is for sale as well if you are interested. It's not going to out perform the Alpha Cone, but on a 75G, it is the perfect sized unit. My tank was stocked and no issues!

Im actually looking for a skimmer that will suite me in a future upgrade aswell....  I really dont have a budget for  BK its out of the budget but the cone isnt so anything between or below those price points that will blow me socks off , like I said I really only know the vertex IN and thats it . The super reef octopus might be the route to take I think , going to grab up the reef octo thats in the classifieds aswell if its not sold for 100$ thats dirt cheap . this tank will be SPS dominated so Im looking for a top notch quality skimmer

I'm a big fan of the reef octopus line.

I have a sicce 2500 pump sitting here that I only plugged in to see the output.  Not really impressive but I think some skimmers use multiple sicce pumps which might make a big difference.

My BK Super Marin 200 is coming this week! Woo hoo! I have been waiting for the Vertex Alpha Cone 200 for 6 months now and got too pissed off. Luckily, Proline is giving me a deal and a half for the BK for the excessive wait.  ;D
