Coral is a green tyree leather (i beleive)
It came at approx the size of the plug the 1 piece is on. This is after a full night of night led's only so they are fully retracted. I noticed the other day that it is starting to split apart. I wonder if this is some natural fragging ability of the leather or weather my new fish (coral beauty) is nipping at it causing it to tear. One thing i had never noticed was the piece of cocoworm shell stuck underneath it the whole time. Id think this could cause the tear as well however ive had this piece of leather since christmas and its doubled in size.

Not sure if that's a leather or not, usually the polyps dont stay extended if the coral is retracted, also they dont really look like leather polyps?¿

As shooter says it's probably a hairy green mushroom and will explain the split as it may be producing another mushroom

yeah i think you are right, will the new mushroom travel to find a new spot? or will they just grow on each other?
