I have an Aiptasia problem! tonnes of them. I've tried peppermint shrimp, I've tried spot treating. I want to eliminate these things! Removing the rock is not an option, so it's either try to find the Nudibrcnh (sp) or a copperband. What are your thoughts?

I have a Yellow Tang, 2 clowns, 1 Blue chromi, goby, cleaner shrimp, and snails.

Tank is 90G

Thanks

I got 3 nudis from sealife and my aptasia is disappearing and when its gone I'm going to try to catch and sell them on this forum, but hey, I can't even give stuff away here.

Copperbands like previously posted are notoriously difficult to keep. They are also hit or miss if they will eat aiptasia. Some will eradicate it, some will ignore it. And the ones that do it eat aiptasia will often eat other things like feather dusters and the sort.

Once the food source runs out though, they can be difficult to switch over to other foods. Especially if there are more aggressive eaters in the tank. They can't take food out of the water column that good. I had great luck with mine. I would drop in thawed clams and he loved em. The purple tang seemed to love em too but I would drop in two or three and there was enough to go around.

As stated already copper bands are tough. If u can get one that u can actually see eating mysis or brine shrimp then u have a great chance. I picked one up at big Al's that was eating well and loves brine shrimp. He also eradicated any tube worms and pods in my tank in a matter of days though. However because he eats the other food he's doing great. One of my fav fish.

if your coral free, fine, if not forget it.

Now now, this hobby is all about risks, copperbands are kept by many successfully reefers on here, as well as angels,  specificity the regal angels,

Yes there is a chance one might nip your coral, but then again I've has a yellow tang eat a brain coral right in front of my eyes
