I recently noticed a 2 inch area of my sandbed with about 10 small ,one centimeter hairlike tenticles which dont appear to moveL Later in the day, around supper time, there are several long, translucent tentacles that seem to be searching for food, an inch or so from the short ones. Last night they were aggressively  feeding on a segment of an algae disc. Havent got a good enough camera to take a pic. Anyone have any ideas?

Most likely a peanut worm.  Google and see if.it is a match.  Generally harmless but sometimes can irritate things with their tentacles but no sting.

Thanks everyone! A bit of research seems to indicate its a spaghetti worm so I'll just relax and accept it as an unintentional but beneficial addition to my reef :)
