shimmer with led's

OK, added 15 blue leds. But don't get any shimmer.
I have 8 t5's on. Is it because of all the t5s or i need white leds.
I love the look at night, but don't get much during the day.

Shimmer is caused by single point light sources like MH or LED spotlight.

The more light you have spread out, the more shimmer is lost.

Again, I can only comment on CREE bulbs, but I am right now looking at 15 blue LEDs and there is some shimmer, but there are no other bulbs.  If I was running a T5 I doubt I would see any shimmer at all.  If I crank up the whites there is shimmer galore.  Remember shimmer also is affected by how much surface disruption you have...

I am currently setting up another string of leds for the tank. Running 15 more led's. 9 are white, 2 uv, and 4 royal blues on another driver. I am hoping that if i crank them up I will get some shimmer. Then might play with timing and run t5s and then have half of them shut off and run the leds. Not sure. Playing around with them at this point.
I already had 15 leds running. I had too dim them down and shorten the time they were on, due to a couple corals starting too bleach a little.

All shimmer from my LEDs disappear when my T5s come on.

ok, added 15 led's. Total of 30 3watt leds now.
So my 4 blue t5's come on at 730am. The other 4 t5's come on at 8am.
Then 4 of the t5's shut off at 430 and before the other 4 shut off at 5pm. My leds come on. All leds stay on until 9pm. Then just 13 royal blues and 2 actinic stay on until midnight.
Leds are 9 white, 2 uv, 2 actinic and the rest are royal blue. Whites are at about 60 percent and blues are at 80 percent.
See how this works. At least I have my shimmer in the evening and through the night.

I have 24 RB LEDs running on my tank right now with my 8 x 80w ATI fixture. Lots of shimmer when I am only running my 2 Blue Plus lamps. Once the fixture runs full power, the shimmer effect is all most non existent. You can see a little but not very much at all.
