Bought a SeaHare from Sealife on Monday. He was roaming along the front of the tank for 24 hours, started up the corner of the tank yesterday afternoon. Couldn't find him last night after 9:00pm. Found him in the Carpet Anenome this morning. If he was in the carpet last night, he had been swallowed and then spit out. He doesn't look any worse for wear, but he's not moving. I suspect he's dead. Anyone have this happen before? is it common?

I'm assuming the sea hare was for hair algae? How old is tank?

They release a toxin that people think is an ink (usual purple)  when they get stressed or die. If he continues not to move check on him. If dead get him out asap. In large quantities it can nuke a tank, just like sea apples do.

tank is about 15 - 16 months old, Hare algae issue.

He's been still for a few hours, I've removed him and put him in a bucket for now. The Cleaner shrimp was going at him.

Size of tank ?

I would keep a close eye on the tank. A waterchange and carbon won't hurt but may not even be necessary.
I have had sea hares occasionally die in older set ups and have never once experienced a tank crash or other issue. Their toxicity is commonly overstated in the hobby.

They're a fickle creature.  Mine goes into hiding for days at a time, then just appears out of nowhere.  It has sat totally still for entire afternoons, then is on the move, totally fine.  I don't have any shrimp or crabs, so not sure how they factor into things.

I bet Dead. I don't think much can withstand a carpet anemone
