My Son is doing a science project on coral reefs, namely how warming and pollution affect them. I wanted to do a real coral display using some coral from my tank. Perhaps some kenya tree or leather coral. He asked me if we could do three containers one with a normal healthy coral, one where we could adjust a heater upward everyday and show the effects of temperature. And one where we could add a drop of shampoo, soap, oil a bit every day and note the results.
this is where I need your input.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to filter three separate container for a few weeks, I don't want to tie it into my refugium, and expose my display tank to chemicals. I found containers at the dollar store , have a heater, and air stones......filtering the water is what im thinking about.
Any thoughts or suggestions
thanks

I think some small aquaclear hang on filters would work well or Walmart sells a small filter that is powered by an airline and has a filter floss in it. They are fixed to the side of the container with a suction cup and are fairly cheap. I use them every day in my dwarf seahorse tank to move the water around without the floss to keep the brine shrimp in motion.

Oh please add some acro eating flat worm to the project to see if he can kill it without hurting the coral :). He will do all of use a favor ;).

My idea would be an ATS, easy to make, doesn't have to be big at all, Down side they take time to grow Algea. Check out the ones using an Air stone. Other than a small filter I can't think of anything else. You can't use your tank and the Leather would be great to use.
