Saturday will be 2 weeks since starting bio pellets. I started with about 100 ml of bio pellets. I am using NPX bio plastics pellets and according to them 800ml is recommended for 100 gallons of water. I am around 110 gallons so I figure that is pretty close. As of now according to there recommendations I am at a 1/4 of the dose. When should I increase the amounts of bio pellets. I didn't get any bacteria bloom(cloudy water). I did notice that my skim mate is ALOT darker since adding which I believe is a sign my skimmer is removing excess bacteria like I would want it to. So I just want to know when I should up the amount of bio pellets and is there anything I should be watching signs of?

Yes exactly 1 200 ml bag is for 50 gallons like I had said I started with 100ml a 1/4 of the recommended amount. Yes thank you it is 400ml of pellets for 100 gallons I meant to say 400 mls. My question is when should I add more bio pellets? I read on one site to add more pellets every 2 weeks. Just I dont know when I should add more. Any advice please.

I would check my nitrate and phosphate levels to see if they are dropping if they are I would wait a little longer if you see no change I would gradually introduce a little more

I agree with Pulp. Check your nitrate levels. If they are not detectable then just use the amount you have. If it is declining then hold off a few more weeks and see where you are then. If it is sitting idle, then add another 100 ml. You definitely want to take it slow and only put in what your tank requires. If you go overboard with the pellets cyano will become an issue and going too fast will actually cause a lot of stress on corals, etc.

Thank you I have been checking nitrates a phosphates every couple of days. Phosphates are still undetectable with salifert test kit. Nitrates are still the same. I have read all the bad things about bio pellets this is why I am asking. I don't want cyano and some of my coral are stressed from a malfunctioning heater that brought my tank up to almost 86 f a few weeks back. So I don't want to loose any of my frags so maybe I should give it another week or 2 to bring add another 100ml of bio pellets that will bring me to half the recommended dose.
