Salt?

Now this isnt a what salt is best thread but a general consensus on what you guys use.

Ive been using io since I started and I find the magnesium is super low. I'm going to switch to reef crystals for a bit and see if that changes anything.

What do you guys use and also what kinda tank do you have. (Sps, lps, fowlr etc...)

I use reef crystals but also add 100ml of magnesium per gallon of alk used.

+1 once my alk is used up In dosing container I have to dose mag.

I use regular IO and find the magnesium low too, but as Rick told me, its a lot cheaper to dose magnesium to raise it than it is to buy the fancy salt, so that's what I do.

Exactly, not a huge savings each year, but if you are dosing anyways...

Regular IO for years now using RC.  I still use Kalk instead of 2 part so dosing Mg is necessary anyway. 

I use the RC on the 180gal reef as well as the 200gal fish and softies tank.  I guess I could save a few bucks using IO for the fish tank but most of the time they just get recycled water from the reef.

I use Red Sea coral pro. So far with bi weekly water changes I haven't had to dose anything yet. Pretty new tank tho but have a fair bit of sps corals and 2 tridanca maxima clams.

RC for me.... Lots of SPS in my tank. I have to dose mag once a month or so to keep my levels up still.
