I dunno about it being small... 

My workplace is a bit larger than two NHL standard sized skating rinks and is only 36,000 square feet.  The building they constructed is 130,000 square feet - sounds pretty big to me!  The ROM is 214,000 square feet total for another reference point-plenty of room there!

Maybe it just looks small because its next to the CN Tower and Skydome (aka Rogers center) which is a whopping 500,940 square feet.

If you want a weekend get away ...get on the amtrak train at port huron and take it to chicago ..for 90 dollars round trip each and  take the sighseeing tour. And get dropped off at the shedd aquarium

Wish I could but I have to get a visa to travel to the states as I am not canadian... Too much hassle... I recently went to the kwazulu natal and capetown aquariums in South Africa and they were really awesome too. The one was designed to be as if it was in a wrecked cargo ship which was awesome!!! They were huge.
