Hi all
Recently picked up a mh/T5 combo fixture from a member on here. Hqi bulbs are new phoenix 14k. Planning on replacing the 4, T5 tubes as I don't like the current combo which are Geismann actinic blue, 2 aquablue corals, and a super purple. I find the look to be way too white and washed out. Planning to buy Ati tubes boxing day and would like some recommendations to create more of a blue look that will give a nice pop to the corals.
Thanks!

You sure it wasnt the MH giving the "white look" All those t5 bulbs are on the blue light spectrum. Ive never owned MH however i beleive the 20k bulbs give you a more "blue vibrant" color than the 14k bulb does

From what I've been reading, the 14k Phoenix bulbs are supposed to be a fairly blue bulb. The T5 are older but supposedly less than a year old but who knows? Maybe they are done!

Thanks man! Just looking for more of a blue look with the t5. May add another actinic... Hoping to pick up a few bulbs boxing day if there are any sales.
Actinic won't add blue. It is almost invisible. I am sure there are some t5 gurus here with some nice blue suggestions, but actinic is like UV and barely visible.

Why not just go with 3x Blue plus and 1x Purple plus?

That should add a ton of blue to compliment the 14k Phoenix

I agree...
FWIW the "14000k" Phoenix bulbs are really close visually to traditional 20000k Radiums....but there is nothing out there that will add the blues like LED...this hobby is now much "bluer" than it ever was in the past...

If any one had been and seen chudly(chad)s 120. He had 2x14k Phoenix and it was prob one of the best coloured lights I’ve seen. I go with atleast one pink bulb in your blue mix for more pop

I've been running radions for the past 4 years and would like to try out something different that is tried and true. I picked up this fixture for a reasonable price and figured why not give it a shot. Does anyone think I should have a true actinic or coral plus in the mix as well or just blue plus and a purple plus?
