Question about skimmers

Ok now I know this may as well be one of those oil threads on my car forums....but here goes.

I am needing an upgrade on a skimmer. Currently running a marineland300. Decent little skimmer but not going to do its job when I step up to the big tank. I was thinking I'd step into a life reef system but have just found a very nice looking unit my reef collection. I know beanbag sells it, anyone use one or the other?  Good bad or ugly, let's hear it all.

I don't sell that line pulp. If you are looking for that line of skimmers you would have to go to aquatic kingdom in Mississauga.

I sell the MRC skimmers. I'm not sure what turn around is, but send me a PM if you want one.

I thought MRC was My Reef Collection? I also have a Marineland 300, i use it as a back up and if it's tuned in right, it can certainly handle 100 gallons, I wouldn't give up on it unless you were going much bigger., It's certainly comparable to the low budget skimmer unless its the 100 version.

MRC stands for my reef creations.

Jewel I am planing on going upsize in a few years up to a 200-300 DT with the sump and refuge I currently have so will be anyplace between 3-400 gals so I am buying equipment as required for that future plan.

You say you have the marineland300. Is it really finicky to use? Some days it seems to dram out skim mate and others absolutely nothing, even though I haven't changed anything?

Actually it's My Reef Creations, not collections. LOL It took awhile for it to really work well, But I liked it enough to hang on to it for a back up.
