Alright so its time to start a Kalk reactor... well I simple homemade drip one, not spending money on this.
So the question is this....

If limewater from your kalk container has a approx. pH of 12 does anyone use this water as a sole source of makeup water? Or would you suggest approx. 1drop/sec and if that doesn't satisfy your evaporation rate then use fresh makeup water and not only water from your kalk reactor?
I was hoping that it was as simple as to increase the drip at the rate of evaporation and ta-da lol... but nothing is that easy... or is it?
Thanks guys!
Cheers!

not sure if this fully answers your question. I dont know about everyone else, but my evaporation rate is not consistant. Depending on weather really. if my furnace is on more, more water evaporates because the air is drier. So for me, I could never rely on a kalk drip to top off my tank only.

I use kalk for make up/top-off and like everyone my rates vary from day to day. I just use more or less kalk depending on how much I'm making up but never more than a gallon per day. If my evap is more than that I just add some water to get my levels back up.

Check it out!!
