I have 2 clowns 1 is an Ocellaris clown and the other is a black Ocellaris clown. They get along great but they only sit in the top corner of the tank and never go any where else. I have had them for about 4 weeks now and have had an Anemone for almost 3 weeks now and they do not go near it. Any suggestion on what I can do to get the clowns to cover more of the tank and how to get them to host the Anemone

thanks

Did you try the flashlight trick? Lights out, shine flashlight onto anemone.

Do they clowns move when you feed tank?  If so you can try and feed just the anemone with a piece of shrimp, see if the clowns go to investigate maybe?

I've had the same problem for over a year now.  If you try the picture trick, make sure no one sees it.  You'll never hear the end of it.

If you can move the anemone, try moving it to the corner where they sleep.

I have a black ocellaris and orange female too and they have never been interested in any anenomes that I have put in the tank, I have tried two different ones which I have moved all over the tank, tried the flashlight trick too. I have also tried to entice them with a bunch of torches and a hammer and still nothing. They also hang out in the top back corner of my tank at night but they also linger around a cave now. Had them for 8months now... Managed to get his to host an umbrella coral, I may try that next too lol!

thanks for the ideas ill have to keep my eye out for an umbrella coral

Maybe wait till I try one, my brother inlaws could just be an odd occurrence lol. It is pretty cool though looking in the tank in the morning and the female is actually closed up in the umbrella like a little house. Really neat to see which is why I am hoping it works for my little guys too.

I find they are much more likely to host something when their life is in peril. :)

My blacker ice clowns won't host the nem, won't host the 1.5" long Gsp, but cozy right up to the red Zoa colony, very strange bunch of characters I tell you

One of mine has hosted the ammonia gauge hanging in the top left and the other has hosted the overflow box, it's a real unique situation. Lol

well, I have a black ice and a platinum in my frag tank and they would not get together or host the anemone. What I did was I caught them both when doing a water change and I put them in a small container with the anemone and within about 1 min they were both together in the anemone ( I think they just got scared and went for cover) but when I put them back in the tank they both went to the anemone. 6 months later they are happy and healthy and hosting the anemone.
