Punta Cana Snorkling

Looking into a resort to go to in the fall in Punta Cana. Wanting to be able to do some snorkeling right from the resort on a beach daily... last time i was in Punta Cana we stayed at Dreams and are considering going back there... I remember there is a lot of rock right off the beach and saw some smaller fish (dont remember what they were) and a few sting rays swimming around only 50 yards from the shore.

Anyone have experience in Punta Cana with good snorkeling right off shore?

I've snorkelled punta Cana several times and also scuba dived there. Both pale in comparison to other locations in the Caribbean but in my opinion the area of Samana is good and if you get a chance to do a trip to Catalina island the snorkelling is pretty good there as well.
