Plumbing Corner Overflows.

One thing I have definitely learned this week is that I suck at corner over flows. After getting my drain pipe set up answer hight corrected to account for the leaking corners, now I have a nasty gurgle noise.

I'm pretty sure it's because I'm draining straight down into the sump. Who's had this before? How did you fix it?

Actually, no matter which one you are running, building a different top to the pipe should silence it. Build what is in the picture, only also add a cap to the top small piece of pipe. Drill a small hole in the pile to allow air into it.

Well. I'm an idiot. I had one of those already. Just had the filter elbow on upside down.

Thanks torx

To be honest pre-drilled tanks are not "reef ready" and should not really be plumbed the way they are factory set up...rather you should be draining them via the "herbie method" and plumb your return up the back and over the top...

One way to keep the noise down is to throw a few bio balls into the overflow box, this will reduce that gurgle sound
