Is anyone doing or worried about this ice storm supposed to be heading for Ontario? What are you doing to be prepared?

Tips?

I have suffered a black out once here before. It was only a day. I wrapped the tank with blankets to keep it warm. I stirred and scooped and poured water every few minutes to keep it oxygenated. On a plus, my water heater is gas, therefor I could fill 2L pop bottles with HOT water to help keep things at a decent temp.

If you have vortechs it's very easy to diy a connector to your own 12v battery. That'll take care of flow.

I haven't set up mine yet... No excuse.

That said, I do have a generator in the shed, it's a cheap Walmart brand but it works well... Enough for the entire tank, furnace (gas), water heater (power vent), fridge, TV.

Here's hoping I don't need to use it! *Knock on wood*

Plug stuff into the car with a inverter. When we had the big black out years ago I run everything off my car for 3 days. My car is diesel so it was no big deal

I have stashed away 22,000 round of ammunition, have 36 bottles of liquor in the cold cellar, generator was fired up last week for a test, and I put my wife on rations. Nothing to do with the ice storm of course, regular day around here (except the rations, wife ain't getting any smaller).
