I have a blue gorg......it faded away.

reef wholesale commented on the health of NPS gorgs and said the issue is the divers retrieve the corals and then put them in shallower waters for "storage". The corals go unfed for weeks so by the time you get em they have been starved and no longer "feed". They then die in your tank.

Reefwholesale spoke with their supplier and advised them of the issue so i guess shipments through them will have NPS gorgs that are freshly harvested and therefore still capable of feeding...

not my words of course...:D

Ya the dendros that can be hand fed larger foods if your consistent can be kept.  Its the filter feeders that I think are hard in a normal tank.

I have some yellow sun corals that I really like.  It was actually a colony of orange SC with just a couple of yellows on one end that I got from someone in Lucan (ReefHero??).  I thought that they would grow together but the yellows killed all the oranges near them and then kept stretching farther and farther and sticking their heads down onto the oranges to kill/eat them. (I wish that I could have gotten a pic).  The oranges are all gone but I have about 20+ heads of the yellows spreading over the rock.  I'm not too upset since the yellows are always out but the oranges only ever opened at night.

I have seen lots of people with various color sun corals growing together?? just be aware that they don't all play nice with each other.

I want to add some dendros myself.

Is that the actual pic of the yellow Dendros/duncans?? I remember seeing those yellow ones growing on the orange sun corals.....I seen they were out more during the day but never thought they would eventually turn out like that.....again if that is the actual pic....??

P.S. I am not calling those sun coral because I don't believe they are.....the orange ones that died were....I also have had zero success with sun coral.....I gave up bcuz I don't believe they are as nice since they hate light....

Yup took that pic yesterday... It was bizarre they stretched way out and bent their heads down to attack the oranges...

Personally I also think these are one of the Dendro species that look almost identical to SunCorals (not the more identifiable D. Fistulas that you got).  Might grab a couple when I get the Fireball...unless you got the last ones ;)

No, I left some there....haha
I have tried three sun corals now and all have eventually died.....they hate light as far as I can tell and that is why I had the frag tucked away I believe when you seen it at my place......I have done the same for all and they would come out a bit in total darkness.....skeptical I tried them in light and never seen them. I now have Dendros and Duncans which are doing terrific. I want a piece of that yellow back tho!!!!! :)
