I love my maxspects. For that size cube you could run 1X 160W maxspect. Which is just under 30" long. You might need to change to the 120 degree optics to cover the 30X30 though. But it really depends on the height you have your lights too.

They're great for color and growth. You're welcome to come take a look anytime. I have two 120W maxspects over my 48X24X24

I love them. The only regret I have is that I chose to go with the 10K instead of the 16K for intensity.

IMO. They're the nicest looking LED fixture out there. The radions are nice, but I think they look just like the cheap ebay ones you can get. Aesthetics are a big thing for me.

When i switched from t5ho to leds i started around 60% strength and slowly raised percentages by 2% every week had no bleaching or colour loss

I was gonna start aat 40% as well ( as lfs suggested) but after a week at 60% no bleaching was evident but if was starting would have turned them down immediately i also have a deep tank so needed them a little higher but now am running whites at 65 blue at 85 and royal blue at 85 for my day period sunrise and sunset are around 25 white and 40 blue and royal but are continuously ramping up or down

Ya before my new system. I only had a 65 long. So only 18" deep. I was also using them on the feet which meant that they were sitting at about 8" off the water.

Mine are at 70% whites and 100% blue/royal, but I also have a vertex illumina blue and another actinic strip on there too.

Very nice ya i am adding a full spectrum led bar as well in the near future the added bandwidths from the red green and uv im hoping will boost growth a bit as nice as led are i still had better growth with t5ho but nowhere near the colour i have now especially my deep blue acro :) no more white base

I've been hearing that. But honestly. I've been very happy with growth rates with my maxspects. And especially the color.

I'm not a believer of the "red/green" "trend". I've done a lot of reading lately as I was playing with the idea of changing my Maxspect. And everything I've been reading, hasn't shown any real proof that the red and green spectrum do much for growth or color on sps. Now UV is a different story. That's a given, to increase growth and color.

Ya ive read the same thing but should make colours pop a lil more..... not saying im not getting good growth was just a bit better with t5's but considering i now have shimmer and bright colours is worth the 5-10% growth loss lol cant complain one zoanthid is usually 6 after a month good ol iodide and aqua vitro fuel lol

I'm running the Maxspect Razor 27 inch, 16 k and I love it for the colours I'm getting out of my Corals, I'll agree the growth is not a good as my T-5s but with no heat and the lack of purchasing bulbs every 8 months, I'm loving the LEDs. The price point on the Razor is great as well, Just under 600 was really nice and yes I did get the upgraded lense package.

Cube setups are best with the Sfiligoi XR6 up to 36x36. This is the light I was going to use on my 36x36 cube. I think 30x30 is better suited for it though as the 36x36 cube would be pushing the limits of the massive reflector.

Can be configured for 400/250/150 watt MH and 4 x 24watt T5's. Comes with moon lights as well.

I have one that's practically new.

Configured with

400w MH
4x 24 t5(2 blue + and 2 fiji purples
4 moon lights, 2 white, 2 blue.
Hanging kit.
bulbs will have to be replaced in about 3-4 months depending on your light usage.

This is a high quality Italian made light fixture.

Cheers.

You're right Dan, it's a beautiful light, I had one a few years and many tanks ago with a 250 MH over a 30 cube, loved that light.

Sounds like an excellent light but to put that in my little townhouse my ac bill would be out the wazzoo to not cook sitting inside.... my 4 bulb t5ho put off more heat than i wanted plus i wont have to worry about expensive bulbs :) and under $10 a month running cost on my 125 gal with 4 ai sol blue fixtures

That's just it, Preference, I don't pay my Hydro so I could go with MH but then there's the heat aspect. My T-5 light was great but a lot of heat. The maxspect in my opinion isn't at the High end of the LED fixture but I like it for my LPS and the occasional softie. I think the Sols or the Radion would be great but tooooo much for me. It's all a matter of Preference
