I hate to beat a dead horse but no word of a lie I was just reading a Marine Magazine. this guy has a 500g tank with a 165 sump. I'm looking at th picture and what do I see. . . . . a hayward pump!!!!!

he said he chose to run it because it was a better pump compared to the magnetic drives and it was less hydro and more water volume for less money.  he has dual 1.5" overflows the same as me. He said he liked the idea of no powerheads in the tank.

I migt be crazy. . . . or just bored but I'm gonna plumb this thing in from across the room and see what happens!

AFV here I come!

ps. I'm still gonna buy the other pump. just might as well see what this thing can do. I already paid for it anyway. hehe.

do it ... fire it up :)

If you are trygin to get all the flow possible I woudl serious change the 1" return line..... go 1.5 all the way to a "T" with 2 1" lines coming out to the tank.  See my build thread for how I did it...

one 1" return on one side of the tank really isnt goging to do a whole lot :)

Holy Cow. Small world.  Glad to hear we can talk about it haha. I really did get in trouble in AP! Cool, now I have a reefer/Realtor to give refferals too in Mt. Elgin.  ;D
And you already have my email. Find a Ballast yet?

WATER BLASTER 10000 being picked up tomorrow afternoon. Please let this work. I have to admit I just like the name. I figure it should pump at least 1100 gph to the DT. And I will stick with my powerheads.

Now I do need to get back to work or ill be starig at a box of water and rock forever!

Thanks for everyones input. Really helped tons.

This is the pump I am running on my 180G. Keep in mind it also runs all my reactors, water change tank and RDSB tank:

Very efficient and all most dead silent operation. Plus, 3 years warranty on the pump. It would definitely be enough. The real flow you want for your corals and keeping your sand bed clean is going to come from your power heads.

Everyone's in and so far happy. They look so tiny in the big tank. Looks like I Will need more rock but I'm used to going slow. I want everything to settle down before I add anything else.

The Water Blaster 10000 is doing a great job except I am probably 4 buckets shy of filling the overflows and sump to run the pump. I think its Murphys Law that hurting me now. Someone's having a good laugh lol. I don't think I've ever moved so much water in my life.
The foam rock wall looks great in person but rockscaping is difficult. I need more corals!!!!

if anyone gets the Christmas spirit. . . . . . . donations accepted! ! :D

some Pictures of my happy fish. The overflows are loud haha. I have some sand still flying around but it Will clean up. I have too many micro bubbles in my sump. Reminds me of when I first set up my 90g.

My third baby was just born hahaha. she is half tinkerbell tho. Next project, . . . . . . In-line Skimmer!

Help always appreciated.  ::)

Thank you Brandon for the awesome light and frags.

I've got micro bubbles from the rush into my sump. I don't know if its my drain pipes ripples or just the force of two overflows into my baffled 75g/45g. Hubby offered to get me another tank but I think I can tinkerbell up a barrel or directional. Any thoughts?

Too tired tonight to think about the tank. Good thing its November cause I'm barely able to think about work!!!!  ::)

Thank You. I'm getting a little depressed that its not quite the vision I had yet. Can only  get better from here and in time. But Thanks for the encouragement.
