Pretty much just on on one rock.

Looks sort of like a thick blade of grass.

I don't. Just have no idea what it is. Any info? Comes and goes? Normal? Anything eat it? Do I want to pull all my hair out and scream?

Can anyone offer any further comment on this? I've google searched what this was suggested to be, and doesn't quite match. maybe this is super early and all I saw was end result of being left a long time?

Too many species that just start out as little green strands for a positive ID at this point IMO

The suggested answer is a possibility...if it grows out a bit without being eaten it will become more identifiable.

Sort of what I figured.

I don't have much in the tank by way of clean up grew, other than some nausarius snails and torcus snails. Any suggestions?

Where did the rock come from? It looks like Caulerpa that is trying to grow. I would just let it grow out a bit and it would give you a better look but I don't think its anything to worry about, I sure a Yellow tang or Naso would keep it trimmed like sheep on grass.

I have a naso in there now.

Rock was Marco unused from scratch brand new. Cured for 2 months. Had some cyano issues at tank first start up through 6 months or so, but nothing now. Had no diatoms, no blooms of any sort. Lots of the rock is sort of neon green almost colour now, and light brown. All reading and pics I've found very clearly say it's the onset of coraline, which I'm now seeing flecks over everywhere, and lots on power heads and overflow. The only other thing I have is a little aiptasia, Was from a rock someone gave me to try to see with coraline before I knew better and noticed it. I've dealt with them with Joes Juice which works great, but they do keep popping up so I clearly see how you have to stay ahead of it. I have an Aussie Copperband on order I'm waiting for from BIGSHOW and we will see how that helps.

I have no immediate concern with what I've posted. They don't seem to be getting any more dense, so I'm keeping an eye on it. I guess I'll continue to do so.

They are not hard are they? I was just looking at the pic again I still say it looks like Caulerpa starting or trying to grow but you may want to pick up an Emerald Crab just in case its Bubble Algae. Aiptasia ya I know that beast I had a outbreak and now they have disappeared, I don't know if it was the Copper Band or the Pepper Shrimp or the File Fish but gone and have not seen one since. My File fish decided to see if he could fly, well you know how that one turned out. I also had an outbreak of Majano and that has disappeared as well boy and that one was getting bad I thought I was going to have a tank with nothing else but Majano's.

5 tangs in one tank, holy how huge is your tank? Blues get to be about a foot each and yellows only 8 "

But that's potentially 4' of tang

220G display. Approx 330G total system. I'm not too worried. There is also A Naso in there already. Naso is about 5", yellows are about 2-2.5" and hippos are about 1.5". Years and Years and YEARS of no worries.

Yup, you will be fine for quite sometime. Glad they worked out for you, those yellows were in one of my tables for over a year.
