I used to rinse all my old sand but I've found that you are better in the long run just to start with new. I think the sand will hold Phosphates no matter how much you rinse it. JMO but how much is a bag of sand. Hey did you purchase that Cube from Big Als?

I'd suggest using new sand. Like Jewel said. You're probably going to cause more of a spike using your old sand.

I work in the industry and have done many upgrades and moves. I always use Dr. Tim's and it usually helps a lot with preventing a spike.

I've tried other products out there that claim to do the same, but none of them work as well as the Dr. Tim's

Just be prepared to do a series of small water changes over the first two to three weeks to help prevent a toxic spike for your corals.
