Live Brine Shrimp

I have a 2.5G(I also have a 5G, if better) tank that I was thinking of setting up to breed live brine shrimp for feeding. It will be a class project for the children and work as live food for the display tank.

I have a few questions:

Is it difficult to breed them?
What additional equipment do i need? I have the tank, light, heater, bubbler.
Will they repopulate in the tank that i setup for hatching eggs? Or do i need to continue to purchase eggs?
Will they stay alive/repopulate in the sump?
How long will they stay alive? I read that you feed them yeast and/or egg yolks.
How much maintenance is required?

Is this a bad idea?

Personally for a learning experience I think it’s worth it , but brine won’t last more then a few hours in a tank (from my experience) the fish will obviously eat them , but think of it as filler food next to 0 nutritions in them , so it’s cool to feed them a few times a week but make sure it’s not their main source of food ,
My 2 cents
