Hey all,

Just wanted to get a pulse check on my lighting. I have an 80 g (48x24x16) and I wanted to make sure I was on the right track.

Main question is if my photo period at 100% blues is long enough?

Please chime in with any tips. I have taken the reds and greens right out all day and dropped the CW pretty low. 13% max in mid day.

Cheers!!

I run about the same with some peaks. I use some red and green to make the fish pop (anthias). My blues max at about 90 and whites max at about 25 but only a few hrs. Mix of LPS and SPS with one large leather (tyree). Its a light pig!

Never any algae issues with red and green as some say. Grow chaeto in sump for nutrient export and run both Siporax and Marine pure spheres and blocks. Maybe thats why I never had and HA issues. Reef has been running for 12 years and 3 years in my 525

Look up the Ecotech Coral Lab SPS AB+ settings. I have been running the hydra series version plus a few respiration periods and everything has responded well. Its cookie cutter now but I trust folks using spectrometers, par meters and growth/colour testing more than my eye balls and guessing.
