I dont think it matters. Mine run 9 am too 9 pm and the leds run 3pm until midnight. I have changed them around a few times, and nothing every seems hurt by it.

I too have my LEDs programmed for the blues to come on at 10:30am and ramp up over an hr then at 11am my whites reds and uv's come on and ramp up to there set intensity. Then about 10 hrs later they all start ramping down for the day it my blues stay on for 2 hrs longer for moonlight effect eventually turning off so that there is absolutely total darkness. This is one of the preprogrammed programs that came on the controller so when I originally set the time on the controller my lights came on at around 7 just as though our sun woul be rising. I work steady days and this would mean my lights would be ramping down for the day when I got home from work and I wasn't getting to enjoy my tank. I ended up setting the time back almost 4 hrs so that I would get to enjoy my tank and when doing so none of my coral seemed bothered by the switch in photo period.
