How to kill sponge off of zoas

This ugly black sponge is killing my zoas.  I tried a freshwater dip - no help.

Any ideas?

Yes, I know I have a cyano problem...

I've had it out of water before, but maybe not long enough.  Its really meaty and harder to scrape off than I thought it would.

I'll try 20 minutes tonight.  I think I'll try and dry it out with paper towels too.

I find the small master craft tools that look like dentist tools work best for picking it off.

Is there any hope of scraping it off the covered polyps?  I was trying not to hurt the mat last time I tried picking it off.

Look up hydrogen peroxide bath foe zoas. it worked for me

or do what uniboob said and pat them dry with a paper towel but leave them out for like an hour or two.

I left my Rastas frag out in the room for 2 hours. Sponge hasn't looked better.... Doesn't work, done it twice now.

shitty. i tried it with some watermelon zoos, i think i did a fresh water dip too, but i was messing with them alot so who knows what was the actual thing that worked.

I think that I've read that exposure to air is introducing air bubbles in their feeding tubes, so they can't filter water anymore, so they starve. Maybe you should wait few days.

Do you think that would effect the zoas. The sponge on my frags is chocking out the polyps.

i think if you inject small amounts it would cause the sponge to recede
