How much is too much ? ( bio pellets)

I'm considering upgrading my pellets on my dt,
I'm currently running a tlf150 about half full , I think it's close to 2 cups, but I recently acquired a tlf550 and am wondering exactly how much is to much? No that I am able to, should I slowly add as much as I can? How much are you running on your tanks? Etc etc

i am running a tad under 2 cups on my 75 with a 44 gallon sump,but i have a fairly heavy bio load,i wouldn't exceed what the manufacture recommends on the bag myself
