What fish do you have so far? Tangs are out of the question in that tank, chromis are great, bangaii cardinals are nice, Gobys , dirty backs, damsels. Visit live aquaria. Com and browse For ideas, they have a whole section of beginner fish with descriptions and some care requirements for them.. Tank size is something important to consider what th a small tank also

Also depends on the type of fish you throw in there. There are several different types of firefish that are very sharp looking, some gobys, clowns, also depends on your filtration. If you aren't running a skimmer or other means of nutrient exporting, then you will have tons of issues if you add too many fish. I have 26 critters in my 120 long tank (minus my CUC), couldn't believe it when my daughter and I actually took a count. Most are smaller fish, firefish, cromis, dottybacks, anthias, and goby.

I gotta question, What the hell is a dirty back? You gotta do some research, see what you like and what fish will do well in a 50 long, I'll tell you and some might not like it but The best fish I bought early on was a Yellow Tang, I put him in a 55 and it took care of a lot of my Algea issues, when I upgraded he came with me right up to my 120, Flame Angel, Coral Beauty, Flame back angel, cardinals,B&W Chromis,, All good choices just not all at once OF Course LOL
