How Long Can Fish Go Without Food?

I'm on vacation til Friday night.
On Monday, my fish sitter locked the keys inside the house, I have the only spare set with me.

So she fed them the last time on Monday.

Realistically, can the fish go til Friday night ?

4 days without feed? I usually feed once a day

Foodless for 4 days is least of my worries as far as my tank goes.

Should be fine, they will forage for food if they get hungry

I can tell you for sure they can go 10 days without food .... I left for VAC and forgot to fill my fish feeder... everything was fine.

I’ve done 2 weeks. They all looked plump when I came home

One time I didn’t feed for over a week. Walking past the tank a clownfish jumped out and hit my arm. Grabbed him, put him back in the tank. Apologized for forgetting to feed him. Fed him.

No worries. I actually found a fish in my sump once that had lived there for months without me knowing. A few days is fine. Anthias may be cutting it close, but other then that you should be good.

5 minutes if you ask the fish.

4 days is fine if the fish were previously well fed. If they were under fed and skinny some might have an issue depending on the type of fish. Something like anthias or other fast moving high metabolism fish that require regular feeding could have issues. If they had some fat stores they probably will be fine.
