Few questions.

Where can i find 1/4in mesh for diy screen top . Reefsupplies has it but back ordered and its 15 plus shipping. Any stores that would carry something like that ?

If i glue a piece of acrylic/plastic to the bottom of teeth for overflow . Will this give me better surface skim because of higher drop into overflow.

I have red flatworms and got flatworm exit . Befor i use i just wanted make sure im doing it right.
-siphon as many as possible
-use fwe
-have atleast 50% wc ready, do wc after 45-60min
-carbon in tlf150 reactor, turn on when wc starts

Is hydor koralia 3rd gen dryside magnet waterproof ? I have it on back wall but in my nano so magnet will have to go in one of back compartments.

Thats all for now thanks in advance

Re the screen top, I made mine out of mesh material from Fabricland...not sure they are still around but cost less than 3 bucks. The material was toxin free and Ive used the screens for over 4 years. I used the plastic window screen frame material from Home Depot that you can cut to size and add corners and made them to fit around my equipment.

You’re right on the flat worm exit . My best advice coming from my experience, give it some time in between how many times you are doing this for eg do it once wait like 3 weeks do again if you have to .

Thanks luke, i read 1 week wait but ill take that into consideration and read up some more.

Thanks kjmsmith, I was thinking maby micheals but since yu mentioned it, fabric land or lens mill store probably be better bet. Ill give that a try tomorow.

Thanks wiredweasel, the screen itself is too pricey but aquariumdepot had the clips to set the screen on so that was helpfull.

Years ago when I had my all in one cube tank, I had a Korillia magnet submerged in the back compartment and never had any issues with it. Both the wet and dry magnets on mine were identicle though so newer ones may be different. As long as there is no metal in it, I would try it and just check it regularly for the first while to make sure its not rusting or coming apart.

Thanks bigfish, this is what i have. It does have metal i guess but its sealed in rubber. Just not sure how "sealed" it is. Thats a good tip though, ill put it in and check once a week or so for a while.

For mesh, you can alternatively use birds control mesh. Comes in 1/4” to 1/2 “ gaps. Few bucks for a big bundle from Canadian Tire..

Oh okay , another option is a glass lid I’ve had one in my 40 gallon cost under $40 it has its pros and cons, but over all I like how it keeps dust out and helps with water evap , and keeps fish in and cats out lol . Also you couldn’t tell it was on the tank unless you look down on it .

Only thing that sucks is

You should rinse it once - twice a week
If you I’d t it will build up salt .

Ya i think with condensation and salt creep that would be more work then i want. And i dont have a skimmer on it so this way theres more gas exchange
