As you might know ,we have a 200gal display and a 135 gal refugium. It's a mixed reef mostly lps and sps and some softies and a large clam. Looking into a copper banded butterfly, but worried bout my clam. BEFORE YOU ANSWER..... I have read other blogs, forums, books and we sites. I'm not interested in text book quotes..lol.
Looking for experience with the two, have you had cbb fish with clams and how did it go.

I have always had a cbb in my tank and 90% of that time (4-5 years) I had one or more clams. I have never had a problem. BUT when u buy this fish u have to b comfortable with 2 things 1) u may be wasting that $ cause u might have to remove it and sell it off. 2) you might have to catch the dang thing lol. If u r cool with these two then I would go ahead and buy one. This is one of those questions that realy depends on the personality of the fish. U might get lucky

i had two large maximas with a cbb and were fine however those little thumb size mussels and smaller flame scallops are toast and will be ripped out the shell in no time
