Have You Ever Heard Of A Bta Eating Small Fish?

Recently I got 2 very tiny (1/2 inch) baby Benggai cardinals. They were fine in the tank for roughly 10 days. Then we noticed that they were hanging out together close to our pink BTA, which has tentacles about 4 inches long. One day we saw them, and an hour later we look in the tank again and one of them was gone! Despite this, every time we looked in the tank, which is a 32G AIO, the baby Benggai that remained still kept hanging out very close to the BTA. Roughly 10 days later he "disappeared" from the tank between one hour and our next walk by the tank 2 hours later as well.

Our parameters are perfect. There were no signs of any illness-in fact, to the contrary, they looked great.

I googled and see that some types of anemones are known to eat fish, but I did not see any articles in my quick search about BTAs eating fish. Has anyone ever experienced this before, or heard of it??

Thanks, Janice

BTA's are not fish eaters but fry are a different story as Dale says anything meaty they can catch. Same goes for fish...most of our reef fish are not fish eaters persay...but almost any fish will snack on fry or baby fish if they are bite size morsels.

BTA ate my bi-colour blenny and I've had to remove a copperband butterfly from his mouth as well.

1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch white.
I've lost several to the same BTA, it's since shriveled to the size of a nickel and stayed that way. Other BTA is thriving.
